旋轉軸唇型油封密封功能主要可分為靜態密封與動態密封，其基本組成如圖所 示。靜態密封指的是油封外徑與油封箱之間所產生的嵌入力(Press-fit)因而形成密封
作用阻止液體洩漏，動態密封指的是旋轉軸與油封內徑(唇部)產生的徑向力(Radial
Force)來達成阻止液體洩漏。
