Precision straightening for steering racks

Steering racks require up to 6 straightening points. Through special measurement systems and software algorithms, workpiece measurement is * guaranteed on the toothed portion either round or Y-shaped. In less than 3 seconds the machine can provide data on the actual workpiece deformation along its axis, achieving the ideal straightening strategy within a short cycle time. 

Machine size depends on the section and length of parts.

The machine can be equipped with specific anvils and punches depending on workpiece section. For a better process efficiency and increase of hourly production, the straightener can be completed with:

tooling automatic set-up units for different kinds of workpieces
automatic crack detection device ito detect micro cracks occurring during the process

Workpiece traceability system, complete with DMC (data matrix code) is becoming even more and more necessary.  Steering racks can be loaded/unloaded manually by the operator or continuous feeding systems together with grips, gantry loaders or 6-axis robots can be used to achieve the best productivity. For high productions a workpiece buffer is also foreseen.
